Kodiak Twin-Engine Snowplow Successfully Rolls Off the Assembly Line

Recently, the BR520D dual-engine snowplow, independently developed by the technical manufacturing team of Liuzhou Yunli Kodiaq Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, officially rolled off the production line.

The BR520D dual-engine snowplow is one of the flagship models in Kodiak’s snowplow lineup. Equipped with both a main and an auxiliary engine, it delivers robust horsepower, significantly boosting snow-clearing performance and extending the snow-throwing range. Its electronically controlled four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering enhance operational efficiency and snow-clearing speed, making it a highly efficient, energy-saving, intelligent, and mechanized multi-purpose snowplow.

After more than a year of R&D by the technical manufacturing team, this vehicle has achieved domestic production of its core technologies—particularly its electronic control system, hydraulic system, and transmission system—eliminating reliance on foreign technology. It now boasts independent intellectual property rights and has been granted over ten invention patents. In addition, the vehicle has undergone hundreds of hours of reliability testing in the cold climate of Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, passed certification by the National Engineering Machinery Quality Supervision Center, and obtained a test report for specialized equipment used at civil airports in China. This newly developed snow-removal vehicle is equipped with multiple functions for snow removal and snow blowing on highways and airport runways. Its reliability and off-road performance ensure that it can complete snow-clearing and ice-removal operations on time and efficiently, regardless of heavy snowfall or icy road conditions, thereby safeguarding road transportation and pedestrian safety during rainy and snowy weather. At the same time, it effectively reduces the operational disruptions caused by adverse weather at airports, minimizing flight delays and even cancellations, thus ensuring on-time departures and arrivals and enhancing the service capacity and standards of both airports and highways.
